About me

I’m Trésor Otshudi — an award-winning singer, choral conductor, composer, educator, and ordained pastor based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I believe deeply in the power of music to uplift, connect, and transform lives.

Singer & Conductor

For more than twenty years, I’ve had the privilege of performing, teaching, and leading choirs that unite artistic excellence with spiritual depth. I founded Trésor Music and the Juste Chanter Gospel Choir to bring people together through music that bridges cultures, faiths, and generations.

Composer

As a composer, my work has been commissioned and presented by several organizations and communities. My choral piece Alleluia to the Lord was selected by the Vancouver Chamber Choir for its Interplay program, where the choir rehearsed and explored the work. I was commissioned by Le Réseau de chercheures africaines to compose and perform the song Divorce. I was also commissioned by the Conseil culturel et artistique francophone de la Colombie-Britannique as part of the Créations Connexes project to compose and workshop an original piece with the Francophone community of Kamloops. Most recently, the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique commissioned me to compose and write, in collaboration with Francophone communities across the province, a Franco-British Columbia anthem celebrating Francophone identity in BC.

Author

I’m also the author of three books exploring voice, worship, and musical leadership, including Juste Chanter: A Dreamer Who Just Wanted to Sing, Worship & Theology: A Systematic Guide for Worship Pastors, and Interpreting Mozart’s Requiem: Analytical Foundations and Conducting Practice in the Introitus.

Student

Alongside my professional work, I continue to grow as an artist and scholar while completing an Artist Diploma in Voice Performance at the Vancouver Academy of Music and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting at Messiah University.

My mission is simple: to help others find their voice, lead with purpose, and allow music to speak to the soul.

To God be the glory.

Juste Chanter Gospel Choir

The Juste Chanter Gospel Choir was founded more than ten years ago in Toronto, born from my desire to create a musical community that celebrates faith, joy, and diversity. What began as a small group of passionate singers quickly became a movement — a space where voices united beyond language and culture to share hope through gospel music.

When I later moved to Langley to study at Trinity Western University, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Music, I relaunched the choir with a renewed vision: to combine musical excellence with spiritual depth. Over the years, Juste Chanter has grown into a vibrant network of singers across Metro Vancouver, including choirs in Surrey, Burnaby, and online, as well as collaborations with community organizations and churches.

In 2025, the choir celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of music, friendship, and transformation.
This season, I’m taking a pause from leading regular rehearsals to focus on my graduate studies and on developing future projects with professional singers, while preparing the next chapter of Juste Chanter Gospel Choir.

I am the author of three books exploring voice, faith, and musical leadership.

My memoir, Juste Chanter: A Dreamer Who Just Wanted to Sing, traces my personal journey of calling, identity, and perseverance through music and faith.

Worship and Theology: A Systematic Guide for Worship Pastors offers a thoughtful and practical framework for worship leaders who seek to ground their ministry in Scripture and sound theology.

My most recent book, Interpreting Mozart’s Requiem: Analytical Foundations and Conducting Practice in the Introitus, is a focused resource for conductors and advanced musicians engaging with one of the choral canon’s most profound works.

All three books are available in English and French and can be purchased directly through my Amazon Author Page.
