About
Juste Chanter Gospel Choir is a Vancouver-based gospel ensemble founded and directed by Trésor Otshudi. Rooted in gospel music and shaped by cultural diversity, the choir brings together powerful voices, vibrant musical traditions, and a shared commitment to artistic excellence, community, and meaningful performance.
Our Journey
Juste Chanter Gospel Choir was founded in Toronto in 2015 from humble beginnings and a simple desire: to bring people together through singing, gospel music, faith, and community. What began as a small musical initiative gradually developed into a choral project shaped by cultural diversity, joyful expression, and the belief that every voice has something meaningful to contribute.
Following Trésor Otshudi’s move to British Columbia, Juste Chanter continued its journey in Metro Vancouver, initially operating as a project-based gospel choir and bringing singers together for selected performances, concerts, and community events.
In 2024, the choir entered a new chapter with weekly rehearsals and regular performances. During this period, Juste Chanter explored the possibility of developing additional choir locations in Surrey and Burnaby, as well as opportunities for singers to participate online, with the vision of making the Juste Chanter experience accessible to a wider community.
The culmination of this chapter came in 2025, when Juste Chanter celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special concert honouring a decade of music, community, perseverance, and shared memories—from its beginnings in Toronto to its development on Canada’s West Coast.
A New Chapter
For the 2025–26 season, Juste Chanter returned to its project-based model, this time with a new artistic direction. The ensemble now brings together professional singers for selected concerts, performances, recordings, and special projects, allowing the choir to pursue focused artistic collaborations while preserving the spirit and identity that have defined Juste Chanter since its beginnings.
After more than a decade, Juste Chanter Gospel Choir continues to evolve. Its format may change from season to season, but its foundation remains the same: bringing voices together through gospel music, cultural expression, artistic excellence, and community.
